Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - The Characters

Newt Scamander, The Magizoologist

A wizard activist that has been traveling the world with the task of finding and documenting a vast range of magical creatures in hopes of educating the wizarding world about the importance of them. Newt carries around a magical suitcase that acts as the container for the rescued magical creatures that he encounteers in order to provide them with a safe haven as he cares for them. His character traits come off as a bit awkward, as he shows more comfort towards the magical creatures that he cares in regards to his fellow wizards and witches.

 Porpentina Goldstein, The Macusa Auror

A witch who resides in New York and works for the MACUSA. She was once titled an Auror but was later demoted for the use of unauthorised magic due to her emotions having the better of her. On a mission to regain her title, she encounters the traveling wizard activist, Newt Scamander. She is also the roommate and older sister to Queenie Goldstein. Her character traits comes off as smart and determined.


 Queenie Goldstein, Legilimens

A witch who resides in New York and works for the MACUSA. She works within the same department to her older sister, Porpentina Goldstein. She is able to dive into peoples thoughts and read them due to her being a Legilimens. Her character traits comes off as vivacious, beautiful, and free-spirited.
Jacob Kowalski, No-Maj

A No-Maj that dreams of becoming a baker for his passion towards making fresh and delicious treats.
His mission of securing a loan from the local bank has allowed him to encounter Newt Scamander, which involves him into the mayhem, leading to an adventure he never thought possible. His character traits comes off as friendly and comedic.



 Percival Graves, Director of Magical Security

One of the most highest ranking and respected officials working at MACUSA. He is suspicious towards Newt Scamander's intentions due to the forbidden magical creatures that he keeps inside his magical suitcase, in regards to Newt's potential of breaking the wizarding world's most important law; which is to maintain the secrecy of the wizard society away from the No-Majes.



 Mary Lou. Leader of the Second Salemers

A No-Maj that acts as the outspoken leader of the New Salem Philanthrophic Society. Mary Lou leads a cult which is bent on the idea of exterminating all magic, as she goes against the wizards and witches. Towards her adopted children, she shares the same mentality that she possesses towards magic users; in which magic is evil. Her character traits come off as self-absorbed and abusive.


 Credence, Second Salemer

The adopted middle child of Mary Lou Barebone. He suffers from an abusive nature from Mary Lou, due to the strict rules that she has put into place. His character traits come off as withdrawn, extremely shy, vulnerable, and lonely.

The Lion King - The Setting

The Lion King takes place in Tanzania; a republic that is located in eastern Africa. Some of the environmental landscapes that were depicted within the movie were inspired from different areas that can be found within Tanzania. The Pride Rock which can be seen at the start of the movie and also in-between was served as the central location of The Lion King universe. The setting was conceptualised from the idea of how the Pope were to greet his people within the Vatican. . Olduvai Gorge; a paleoanthropological site that is located to the east of the Serengeti Plain of Tanzania was the environmental focus point towards the scene of where the wildebeest stampede was occurring as well as the death of King Mufasa. However other scenes throughout the movie such as the jungle where Timon and Pumba resides, the elephant graveyard, and the watering hole, etc, were not based on any environmental surroundings that can be found throughout Tanzania. The Lion King - Production

The Lion King is an animated musical film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation. Its development began in 1988, between Jeffrey Katzenberg, Roy E. Disney and Peter Schneider whilst in Europe promoting Oliver & Company . By fall, Thomas Disch had written the first treatment for the project (which was then known as The King of the Kalahari , later King of the Jungle , finally The Lion King ) and submitted it to the studio.  George Scribner signed on as director and was paired with Roger Allers. In November 1991, the two directors, along with a group of animators and artists, travelled to East Africa to research on the film's setting and animals. It was from this trip, that the group was introduced to the phrase "Hakuna Matata" by their tour guide.  However once they returned, Scribner stepped down from his position and went on to be a consultant for the project, leaving Allers to be paired with director Rob Minkoff.  A big issue concerning production
